About
Our consultant, Rebecca Hall (Bec), is a certified baby sleep consultant and is a qualified and experienced early childhood teacher, specialising in the birth to 4 year age group. She is also a Mum to three young boys and has experienced first hand the exhausting, physical and emotional effects of sleep deprivation.
Bec decided to become a sleep consultant for a few reasons. The first was after the traumatic levels of exhaustion she experienced with her first son. He was born with several medical problems and spent huge amounts of time in hospital. The hospital stays, combined with a lack of knowledge about sleep and settling, resulted in a very overtired baby who would wake hourly, every night. Bec attempted to source help and found there were very few people who were able to help in Tasmania. After extensive reading and research, she was able to solve her sons sleep issues and promised herself she would help others to achieve the same results. Bec also spent a lot of time working with parents and children within schools, through early childhood programs, and could see a desperate need for another support system within the state. Two more children and a lot of study later, Bec is now a certified sleep consultant and has helped hundreds of clients from all over Australia and internationally.
At Baby Sleep Tasmania, we are passionate about the importance of a good night's sleep. Sleep is not a luxury! It is a biological necessity and one that our society has become very neglectful of over time. Our clients are often amazed at the positive changes to their child's temperament once their sleep is improved. A baby who sleeps well is often a happy, calm and content child who will have the ability to reach their full potential as they continue to develop.
